Rommie Martinez: Art Show Opening & Book Debut

THE SHOW

This October, journey into the world’s oceans with “No Time to Lose,” a new show from artist and author, Rommie Martinez.

Alongside her artworks, Martinez will be debuting her first book, “The Adventures of Eco Girl,” featuring the globe-trotting protagonist from many of her works on a mission to save endangered marine species.

Every Sunday in October, from 2 – 6 PM, you’re invited to meet with the artist and discuss her works, as well as browse the gallery amidst whale songs and immersive lighting.

THE ARTIST

Martinez has been known as an illustrator for many years; but in 2020, after so many changes all around, she turned inward, went back to her roots and her love of ecology, and started painting.

She created “The Adventures of Eco Girl” which follows a determined teenage girl with a deep passion for protecting the ocean, dedicating her life to rescuing and preserving endangered marine species!

THE SPACE

The WEvent Space is a distinctive venue located in the heart of the Tower Grove South neighborhood, set within a beautifully restored church. Embracing the spirit of its historic roots, the space provides a laid-back, welcoming setting for live performances, community gatherings, and a gallery dedicated to showcasing new and emerging artists. Central to its mission is creating opportunities for artists and audiences to connect while reestablishing the former church as a vibrant hub for creativity and community. Through music, visual art, and meaningful experiences, WEvent Space invites all to be part of a shared creative journey in one of the area’s most unique venues.
