Helping the Alumni Association stand out with their own brand

We first met with the John Burroughs team when their Alumni Association needed some help establishing a clean, consistent presence with new branding. The graphic pennant design conveys the organization’s commitment to school spirit, while the flame icon and color palette ties the new logo to the existing John Burroughs brand.

Once the logo was finalized, we were asked to extend the new brand into some marketing materials to help the organization achieve their goals. First we created an invitation to invite former JBS students to their annual alumni weekend. The invitation was then set up as a template so the Alumni Association could create additional designs that had a consistent feel in the future.

Their second, long-term goal was to raise $3.1 million for the school’s annual fund. The Alumni Association needed a way to communicate how the annual fund is used and why it differs from the other funding asks that come throughout the school year. We determined that a fun animated video would be the best way to engage their audience and quickly explain how small donations add up quickly to have a big impact.
