DESCRIPTION:$10 General Admission\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTHE SHOW\n\n\n\nJoin us for this month’s concert with the talented singer-songwriter James Ibur\, accompanied by a retinue of different local musicians playing different instruments and genres. This set is never the same twice!This month\, James is joined on stage by special guests Devon Cahill and Danny Hommes. \n\n\n\nTHE ARTISTS\n\n\n\nJames Ibur is a multi-disciplinary visual artist\, professor\, and songwriter\, as well as frontman for the St. Louis rock alt-rock band Flying House. His heartfelt\, guitar-driven style pulls influences from blues\, rock\, folk\, and country to create a sound all his own. \n\n\n\nDevon Cahill made her professional debut at age 6 in a three-month run of “The Sound of Music.” In 2012 she shifted gears from musical theatre and formed the indie folk band Letter to Memphis—which quickly became a local favorite—playing at venues and major cultural events all over town and winning Best Folk Band from The Riverfront Times two years in a row. In 2017\, Cahill ventured out as a solo artist\, debuting her first solo EP\, entitled “When I Wake.”  Her rootsy songwriting style is a hybrid of Americana\, indie and folk music. When not performing solo\, Devon leads a band with David Newmann\, and Simon Chervitz. They have opened for touring artists such as Erika Wennerstrom (Heartless Bastards)\, Amythyst Kiah\, two time Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz\, and The Local Honeys. Their debut album is currently in the works!  \n\n\n\nDanny Hommes is a drummer and songwriter from St. Louis who has performed and collaborated with numerous bands across the region\, including Aviation Club\, Bellyfeel\, Three Merry Widows\, Karate Bikini\, and most recently Flying House. Hommes has appeared at major local events like LouFest and contributed to more than a dozen albums. His songwriting blends humor\, romance\, and the occasional touch of mortality: a style he first developed in the 1990s as the primary songwriter for Don’t Tell Ginger. Outside of music\, Danny runs Pixelography\, a digital imaging studio\, and is a two-time NAPP Photoshop Guru Award winner. Show starts at 7. \n\n\n\nTHE ARTISTS\n\n\n\nKala Dunn is a versatile multi-instrumentalist and vocalist with a background in both classical and jazz traditions. A graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy\, where she studied flute\, she later earned her degree in piano performance summa cum laude from Murray State University\, performing as a soloist in works including Rhapsody in Blue and the Grieg Piano Concerto. Kala has recorded jazz standards as a vocalist with the Todd Hill Orchestra and Quintet and continues to perform as a flutist with the Paducah Symphony Orchestra. Now based in St. Louis\, she is an active presence in the regional arts community and works in Advancement at the University of Missouri–St. Louis. \n\n\n\nEmerson Magaña is a vocalist and guitarist known for his warm stage presence and rich Latin sound. Music is a vital part of worship\, with great congregational singing\, and a choir that sings the faith through classics\, contemporary pieces\, spirituals\, and world Christian music such at that of Iona and Taizé.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe liturgy is ‘the work of the people\,’ so everyone is involved! Leaders are lay and ordained. The congregation is engaged through readings\, prayers\, and responses.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Prayers of the People include prayer for our world\, community\, and for those dear to us.\n\n\n\n\n\nWe worship through the seasons of the Christian year: Advent\, Christmas\, Epiphany\, Lent\, Easter\, Pentecost\, and Ordinary Time.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Children\, Worship & Wonder”\n\n\n\n\nAfter the children’s moment\, children who want to participate\, are invited to leave the sanctuary to participate in Worship and Wonder.In Worship and Wonder the children experience hands-on stories from the bible.  There is singing and children and leaders share the Great Feast\, pray\, and receive a blessing. The Worship and Wonder room is located on the same level as the Sanctuary\, next to the kitchenette. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAfter-Worship Fellowship Time\n\n\n\nImmediately following worship in the church library. Everyone is welcome. This is a time for fellowship and a chance visit and get to know each other better. Members of the congregation provide snacks for this community time each Sunday.

Throughout her career\, she has combined business leadership with a deep commitment to spiritual formation\, mentorship\, and service. In her role as spiritual guide for In the Spirit\, Mary Elizabeth brings a wealth of wisdom\, reflection\, and experience to create an environment of faith and purposeful living. Under her gentle direction\, participants are empowered to connect and grow through meditation and the wisdom of God. \n\n\n\nSandra J. Jackson is a St. Louis–based meditation practitioner and holistic wellness guide dedicated to helping others cultivate peace\, clarity\, and spiritual balance. Jackson\, for a guided meditation experience at Power Creative. In her role as spiritual guide for In the Spirit\, Mary Elizabeth brings a wealth of wisdom\, reflection\, and experience to create an environment of faith and purposeful living. Jackson is a St. Louis–based meditation practitioner and holistic wellness guide dedicated to helping others cultivate peace\, clarity\, and spiritual balance.
