SUMMARY:Compton Heights Christian Church - Worship Service
DESCRIPTION:Sanctuary Worship   11:00AM\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWorship is always contemporary in content\, with a traditional style: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe sing our faith. Music is a vital part of worship\, with great congregational singing\, and a choir that sings the faith through classics\, contemporary pieces\, spirituals\, and world Christian music such at that of Iona and Taizé.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe liturgy is ‘the work of the people\,’ so everyone is involved! Leaders are lay and ordained. The congregation is engaged through readings\, prayers\, and responses.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Prayers of the People include prayer for our world\, community\, and for those dear to us.\n\n\n\n\n\nWe worship through the seasons of the Christian year: Advent\, Christmas\, Epiphany\, Lent\, Easter\, Pentecost\, and Ordinary Time.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Children\, Worship & Wonder”\n\n\n\n\nAfter the children’s moment\, children who want to participate\, are invited to leave the sanctuary to participate in Worship and Wonder.In Worship and Wonder the children experience hands-on stories from the bible.  There is singing and children and leaders share the Great Feast\, pray\, and receive a blessing. The Worship and Wonder room is located on the same level as the Sanctuary\, next to the kitchenette. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAfter-Worship Fellowship Time\n\n\n\nImmediately following worship in the church library. Everyone is welcome. This is a time for fellowship and a chance visit and get to know each other better. Members of the congregation provide snacks for this community time each Sunday.

The resonant structure of sound patterns provide an opportunity for the logical mind to recede and the brain to shift into deeper states of thought\, relaxation\, and healing. \n\n\n\nTHE HOSTS\n\n\n\nPati Pellerito\, BCTMB\, CSH\, is a therapist and sound artist. She is passionate about the intersection of healing and art. In individual sessions\, with small groups\, and in classes and workshops\, her unique work draws upon therapeutic body work\, Eastern philosophies of wellness\, shamanic studies\, ancient wisdom teachings\, and the science of sound and vibrational medicine to create a safe and sacred space for inner peace and joy. In practice for more than 25 years\, Pati has a deep connection to helping others create a healthy and harmonious life\, living from the heart. Learn more about Pati. \n\n\n\nJames Ibur is a multi-disciplinary visual artist\, professor\, and songwriter\, as well as frontman for the St. Louis rock alt-rock band Flying House. His heartfelt\, guitar-driven style pulls influences from blues\, rock\, folk\, and country to create a sound all his own. Embracing the spirit of its historic roots\, the space provides a laid-back\, welcoming setting for a wide array of local live acts. Central to its mission is the WEConcert Series—an ongoing effort to reestablish the former church as a vibrant hub and gathering place for the community.
