THE SHOW

Music Brings Us Together is a special concert presented by Power Creative in collaboration with Arts & Faith St. Louis, celebrating the power of music to enrich our lives and bring people together. This one-of-a-kind evening features performances by Grammy Award–winning soprano Christine Brewer, as well as renowned St. Louis natives, soprano Angel Love, tenor Duane Foster, and pianist Alla Voskoboynikova. Whether you are immersed in the world of opera or new to the scene, this show is sure to impress.

THE ARTISTS

Christine Brewer is a Grammy Award–winning American soprano celebrated for her warm, radiant timbre, dramatic power, and emotional depth. Named one of the top 20 sopranos of all time by BBC Music, she is acclaimed worldwide for her performances in opera, concert, and recital, particularly in Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos. Brewer has sung with leading companies including the Metropolitan Opera, English National Opera, and Opera Theatre of St. Louis. Her distinguished career includes major roles from Wagner, Strauss, Britten, and contemporary ensembles, as well as a rich discography of more than 25 albums. Deeply committed to education and community engagement, Brewer works with young students through her long-running Opera-tunities program and mentors voice students at Webster University.

Angel Love is an emerging American soprano from St. Louis, MO, with a growing presence in the classical music world. She earned her Master of Music in vocal performance from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she appeared in leading roles on the opera stage and as a featured recitalist. While at UCLA, Angel sang the lead role of Lala in the world premiere of Lost Childhood. She has also performed as a soprano soloist in Leonard Bernstein’s Songfest and in Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 “Resurrection” with the UCLA Philharmonia.

Dr. Duane Martin Foster is a St. Louis native whose career spans Broadway, opera, dance, and arts education. His career includes originating the role of Matthew Henson in Ragtime on Broadway, a Carnegie Hall debut as tenor soloist in Robert Ray’s Gospel Mass, appearances with New York City Opera and The Muny, as well as international touring and Broadway recordings. A nationally recognized arts educator, he founded the Normandy Dance Academy, directed acclaimed student productions, and was named Arts Educator of the Year by the Arts and Education Council of St. Louis in 2013. In 2023, he earned his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Maryville University and currently serves as Assistant Principal at The Mason School of Academic & Cultural Literacy while remaining active as a performer and director in the St. Louis arts community.

Alla Voskoboynikova is an accomplished pianist, vocal coach, and educator who has served as Director of Keyboard Studies at the University of Missouri–St. Louis since 2004. Trained in Russia and Ukraine, she earned degrees from the Music College in Voronezh and the Gnessins Academy of Music in Moscow, and previously worked as a pianist and vocal coach at the Kiev Opera and Ballet Theater. Since relocating to the United States, Voskoboynikova has built an active career as a soloist, chamber musician, and collaborator with members of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, and Union Avenue Opera, with performances at Carnegie Recital Hall and with major regional orchestras. A sought-after coach and passionate teacher, she curates thematic recital series and mentors students who regularly perform at leading St. Louis venues and competitions, while remaining deeply engaged in cultural exchange and international music collaboration.

THE SPACE

The WEvent Space is a distinctive venue located in the heart of the Tower Grove South neighborhood, set within a beautifully restored church. Embracing the spirit of its historic roots, the space provides a laid-back, welcoming setting for a wide array of local live acts. Central to its mission is the WEConcert Series—an ongoing effort to reestablish the former church as a vibrant hub and gathering place for the community. Through music, art, and connection, WEvent Space invites all to be part of a shared creative experience in one of the neighborhood’s most unique venues.
